The Value of Experience
When voters choose a Register of Deeds, experience matters. But I also believe it is important to understand that not all experience is the same. I respect the work done inside the Register of Deeds office. A deputy clerk performs important duties every day. That work can include receiving documents, recording them, indexing them, scanning them, preserving them, and helping people find public records. Those duties matter because property records must be handled carefully and accurately.
A Unique Perspective
For 25 years, I have worked as a real estate closing agent. I have worked with property documents before they ever reach the courthouse. That means I have worked with deeds, deeds of trust, mortgages, legal descriptions, title documents, lenders, attorneys, buyers, sellers, escrow funds, and closing paperwork. A deputy clerk usually works with documents after they are submitted for recording. I have worked with those documents before they are recorded.
That difference matters.
When a deed, mortgage, legal description, or title document has a mistake, it can create problems for real people. It can affect homeowners, farmers, families, lenders, and businesses. These records are not just pieces of paper. They represent homes, land, farms, businesses, and family investments.
My years in real estate closings have taught me to pay attention to details, ask the right questions, and understand the transaction behind the document.
I am running for Register of Deeds because I believe this office needs someone who understands both the importance of public records and the real estate process behind those records.
A deputy clerk knows the office process. I know the real estate transaction behind the record.
That is the difference I bring.
I am Stephanie Presley, and I am asking for your vote for Register of Deeds.
